Last weekend Greg Cipes I high tailed it to Muir Woods in Marin. Between the largeness of these tree beings, the exceptionalness of the sunny day – not too hot, not too cold, and the springfully blossoming flowers fragrancing up the place, we were in heaven on earth for sure. It was a museful musical magical day of true chill time as we were also gathering momentum and making preparations for the Harmony Festival.

Cipes + The People will be playing on the Harmony Festival Community Stage Eco Village Stage, and Cipes is also one of the Eco Village MC’s, along with yours truly moi, Rainbeau Mars, Janabai Owen of Rawvolution, JJ Jacques of CAST, Singing Bear of Aumnibus and even Cherie Soria of Living Light International will grace our stage with a couple of introductions to raw vegan leaders Matt Amsden of Rawvolution Victoria Boutenko of Raw Family. Many of us including Cipes for the first time, will also be at Raw Spirit Fest later in the year September 12-14 in Sedona. Harmony is June 6 to 8 in Santa Rosa, and I’m managing the Eco Village so I hope you will come out and find me to say hello!
So you can see we have quite the Raw All Star line up at Harmony this year!
Ok, back to the woods.
We had stopped at Good Earth Grocery in Fairfax before heading out, and we got Cipes’ favorite mustard greens, amazing Princess Pistachios from David Kaplan’s company Transition Nutrition, a Wild Bar (which was of course designed by my friend Christian Bates – I like the mint ones), a couple varieties of Kombucha including High Country (my fav, they will also be at Harmony), a really gorgeous yummy ripe avocado, some strawberries, Lydia’s Organics crackers (she makes the crackers right here in Fairfax and she’ll be at Harmony too thank goodness – that’s where I’m going to eat during the festival!), some Artisana Coconut Butter, you know the creamy stuff, o yes, and some pumpkin seed butter.
And Cipes’ favorite part of what we brought was Gold Rush. And my fav is the spicy noni beverage filled with enzymes and amazing energy also by Noble Life Elements.
And some sea salt. And Cayenne. O yes and as always, broccoli! ….and bananas. one more perfect thing – dulse!
We each made ‘a dish’ out of what we had brought. Curious combinations yes?
Cipes pulled out the mustard leaves, and filled them in a conical shape with broccoli, pistachios, avo and sprinkled with sea salt.
I took one of Lydia’s crackers, spread coconut butter on it, added a slice of banana, then a drop of pumpkin seed butter, and a strawberry slice. Topped of course with a small piece of Wild Bar.
I have to say that, food combining aside, this was probably the single most profoundly delicious energizing meal ever. It might have been the day. It might have been the friendship. It might have been the exceptional nature of the fresh, high vibe foods — so much of which was produced by friends!
Somehow, something magical was going on. It was as if the Fairies and Elves of Muir Woods dabbled us with their potent magic star dust, cheering us on as emerging world servers, recognizing the beauty and love coming through on behalf of creation in our paths of service. What a blessing. What an activation!
The stage is set, the players are in… let’s RAWK the planet brothers and sisters! And remember, ALL IS WELL.
Love, Laura

Greetings Laura.
Wonderful story! Making my heart ache a bit. I have lived in southwestern Montana for the last 17 years, but I grew up in Marin.
I lived several years in Fairfax and know the Good Earth well. I love the Rockies, where I live now, but it would be delightful to walk through the Redwoods again.
I ate totally raw last summer. It was wonderful, I felt vital, and lost thirty pounds without even trying. Started eating cooked again when winter set in, and didn’t get back to the raw this summer. Looking at how I feel now, compared to this time last year, I say, yeah, raw’s the way if you want to feel the most alive and vital.
Thank you for the excellent work that you are doing. Your vision resonates with how I envision our planet, and her people.
Namaste.
